The Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung is a German political foundation that is present in West Africa since 2010. It organizes national, regional and international policy debates and supports scientific research from the perspective of a more just world. It accompanies the civil society organizations in order to strengthen the democratic participation, the rule of law and the Social State.
The Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung has made a particular commitment to political education, which it defines as individuals’ability to understand their society, their history and their relations with the world.
This is the focus of the goals and methodology of the actions we implement in West Africa in collaboration with local and international partners.
One thing all of our projects have in common is the fact that they enable individuals to better understand the social contexts in which they live, as well as the changes that are taking place there, and to develop forms of civic participation in the context of open, fair, peaceful and dynamic democracy.
Activities of the Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung currently relate to the three following themes: youth and politics; Work and Social Justice; Natural resources, vulnerabilities and Alternatives.
